Recently, it has seemed kind of wise to avoid those who make a living talking about a specific problem. Especially when said talkers are making millions of dollars. Certainly there are problems that need to be addressed. But when you're primary source of income is waxing eloquent about say, the black struggle or the environment, how motivated are you really to see that problem go away?
My point is this: Dyson, West, Sharpton, Jackson, Gates, Gore and others make a living talking about issues. If those issues (my primary beef today is with racism but Gore and climate change also belong here) were to go away, there would be no more money talking about them. Sure Gates would still have a job teaching about the history of racism and Dyson could go back to being a preacher.
But there is always money to be made in shilling problems, so instead, these men continually harp on their respective issues. It's in their best interest to continue to bring racism to the forefront of the American consciousness. As long as there are racists, this band of agitators will be needed to stand up on behalf of their brothers and sisters, to make long speeches about how racism is tearing this country apart, to the be face of racism's mortal enemy. But really? Is that what they sincerely want? What is their exit strategy? What will they do for work once the great evil or racism has disappeared?
What I do not understand is how these self-proclaimed leaders of the black community can stand in judgment on our Founding Fathers for owning slaves when they themselves make a tidy profit off of racism. It's disgusting and not dissimilar. If racism continues to exist in some invisible realm, the problem really will never go away and our black "leaders" will continue to make bank simply because they have problem to talk about. At least the Founders sincerely wanted slavery to go away and did what they could to stop it. These guys are just a bunch of jokers by comparison.
