Apparently I'm Racist Against the President

I hope we never have a half black president again.

No, seriously. I do.

I’m tired of everything being about race all the time. There were Joker pictures of President Bush, but the people who made the Barack “Socialism” posters are racist. (They have nothing to do with, say, socialism.) People double-checked McCain’s birth certificate, but questioning Obama’s is racist. People disagreed with Bush’s policies, but disagreeing with anything Obama wants is racist.

Was the Rwandan genocide a product of racism? History tells us those people were the same race.

Never mind that more than half of this country’s voters voted for him. Never mind Obama was winning lifelong Republicans left and right. I’m not sure if it’s worse or better that it’s mostly non-blacks promulgating this asinine idea of disagreeing being tantamount to racism.

If you can’t disagree with the President’s policies without being labeled racist, dissent is going to become a hate crime. (Well, for everyone but halfsies.) Am I a racist because I disagree with most of what Obama says and does? I’m a halfsie just like he is. If disagreeing with anything the man does means I’m racist, then it looks like I’m a racist.

We throw this word around so much it’s lost its meaning. What does racism mean anyway? Was the Rwandan genocide a product of racism? Those people were the same race. Maybe the conflict in Serbia is real racism. But most Americans couldn’t tell a Serb from an Albanian from a Croatian.

Frankly, it’s embarrassing that these people believe Obama holds no weight except for the color of his skin. His policies don’t mean jack – it’s his black daddy you have a problem with. If you want to see a cavalcade of mental depravity all one must do is turn on the news. Pop media feeds these imbeciles a steady diet of emotional sensationalism. The real racism is saying the Obama’s policies don’t matter, what matters is the color of his skin.

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

It's amazing to me how the people judging President Obama by the content of his character and NOT by the color of his skin are being labeled as racists whereas those doing the exact opposite of that are the "tolerant" ones. Dr. King must be rolling in his grave. :o(

I read the comments on Politico, other news sources, and blogs such as yours. Almost without exception, race is only ever raised by unhinged leftists who lack any other argument. If racism was as rampant as some are suggesting, wouldn't we also be seeing it from at least some on the right? Personally, I'm sick of being called names and being accused of biases that I don't have. I'm sure I'm not alone.

You have a very interesting perspective, and I enjoyed my visit to your blog. I'll visit again soon.

I have to respond to this. Yes there were cartoons of Bush etc, but when you look at the WHY, you can make a list of the things he did to deserve that. Are you ignoring the fact that Barack has been treated a little differently? Are you ignoring the obvious obessesion with his race that continues to come up even when he doesn't want to keep discussing that? Do you not see how the people against him really have no specific reason for it?

Lawanda, do you have any specific references of people who keep bring up the president's race when he does not want to talk about it? Who is treating him differently? Who specifically is against him with no specific reason for it?

Here' s some specifics: Increasing our debt to unsustainable portions, taking over banks & auto industries, giving Cinstitutinal rights to terrorists, having over 35/40 czars, & making deals & bribes to unconstitionally pass a HCR bill that the majority of Americans don't want.
