We live in a society where people are promulgating this belief that the Founding Fathers of this country were deists. They believed in God but that was as far as it went - you can't deny that they believed in God. While the term deist is thrown about, really it seems that what we are being told in essence is that these people were agnostics.
Problem with that theory: how many deists or agnostics do you know that say things like "we were endowed by our Creator"? And under what circumstances would said people write or say such things? While they were writing up documents to found a nation? Hardly! The agnostics that I know are not that much difference from the atheists I know - they hardly mention God or the idea of God, much less when signing or writing official documents!
Why would you even bother, in nation building, to mention the idea of God?
yet we believe this lie that is being pushed by secularists that "oh, the Founding Fathers believed in the idea of a god but that was really as far as it went." Bullocks! These people clearly believed in a Creator who could and would intervene in the affairs of men. Otherwise, why mention Him so frequently?
Shame on us for believing anything otherwise.
We have a lot to learn about not being duped by ridiculous things that are being forced upon us by those who would purge history of every mention of God if they thought they could get away with it. If you don't believe that this purge is happening, you aren't paying attention, nor do you have a firm grasp on history.
Robin Hanson has this brilliant quote where he says something along the lines of we believe democracy's flattering lie that every person's opinion is as valid as all others when in fact the majority of what most people think will work is awful.
Thoughts from a half-black, bleeding-heart, right-leaning, recently converted liberal.
